Hey, there. Kate from Prenursing Smarter here. I wanted to share with you some of the cool stuff I’ve been working on behind the scenes and give you a sneak peek at what’s in development for the rest of 2018.
Sound good?
Let’s check it out!
In 2017, Prenursing Smarter expanded from about 15 modules to more than 50 modules. Whew! 😅 The online study program now features more video lessons, more practice questions, and a completely updated course organization. My goal is to create a TEAS prep program that works, and I appreciate all the feedback, guidance, and support during the renovation process.
If you are curious, here’s what the old version of the course looked like:
All of the sidebars expanded to show all the lessons, and things started to get confusing fast. Today, the lessons are easier to find. The course now has lessons visually organized by TEAS subject and course topic. Plus, you’ll find multimedia lessons that are better labeled with emojis so that you can quickly find a quiz ✅, a video lesson 🎬, an audio lesson 🎙, or a downloadable workbook ✏.
In addition, the much-anticipated Anatomy and Physiology modules went live after a round of private testing.
These modules feature hundreds of practice questions, audio reviews, and downloadable workbooks and checklists. It was a giant project, and I know many students wanted more prep with this TEAS section. The lessons have been really popular, and I’ve heard from a few students that the audio reviews have replaced the radio during their commutes! So awesome! 🚘
Last year was all about building the lessons that students most wanted to see while making TEAS studying as stress-free as possible. These updates also helped make Prenursing Smarter more comprehensive and user friendly for busy students.
So far, 2018 has been another busy year here at Prenurisng Smarter Headquarters.
You might have noticed that this website got an entire redesign. The previous site was slow to load on mobile devices, which was no good. Plus, it didn’t have a lot of personality or authenticity. (I got emails asking if I was a real person—now that’s a sign that the site needed help!)
Now, the site loads better on all devices, and it looks better too! You can get to know my personality and teaching style a bit more—by the way, would you believe that my favorite color is turquoise? 😆
The new site has easier-to-find TEAS resources by subject and expanded test prep study tips. The site has clearer enrollment information, too. Plus, I made technical improvements so that it loads faster. Yay!
Over in the premium courses section, 2018 has already brought some cool new additions and TEAS study resources.
Here’s a quick review of Prenursing Smarter’s new premium lessons:
⭐ 50 English Language Practice Questions ⭐
This module features randomized question banks so that you can practice quotations, sentence structure, punctuation marks, and all sorts of other grammar goodies for the TEAS English section. It’s great for reviewing and getting in quick, focused studying.
⭐ Words in Context and Figurative Language ⭐
This module tackles several tricky concepts for the TEAS Reading section. It features 6 detailed lessons on the figurative language, connotation, and denotation concepts emphasized by the TEAS. Plus, I walk you through the types of TEAS questions you are most likely to see and give you strategies for each. It includes a quiz with the answers explained in quick video lessons.
⭐ Anatomy and Physiology Final Exam Question Bank ⭐
The Anatomy and Physiology modules already contain hundreds of practice questions, but I added a randomized final exam. This module features 32 Anatomy and Physiology questions, which is the number of scored A&P Questions that you’ll have on the TEAS. The questions in this exam are a little tougher and meaner than some of the other Anatomy and Physiology practice questions in the course. 😬
⭐ TEAS Flashcards for Reading, Math, Science, and English ⭐
I added several pages of printable, ready-to-use flashcards for every section of the TEAS. You can download and print the pages, fold them in half, and carry them with you to quiz yourself quickly on the go. You can also use them to create your own flashcards. These flashcards cover many of the concepts that are emphasized by the TEAS.
If you are an actively enrolled student, be sure to check out these new resources in your dashboard. I hope you like them!
What’s in store for the rest of 2018?
The rest of the year is going to bring some cool new developments!
One goal is to offer more free study resources. I know that the premium courses don’t fit into everyone’s budget, so I want to offer great free study resources to help everyone do their best on the TEAS.
I’m an educator first and foremost, and I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to get a quality education. By the end of 2018, I hope to have a more extensive library of free resources created and organized so that you can get some extra TEAS study help. (I’ll link to it here when it’s ready for you!)
Of course, I will continue to build an awesome program for my premium students, too! They invest in their studying, and I invest in them.
Prenursing Smarter already has flexible course options for different budgets. In 2018, I’m considering offering payment plans for some (or all) of the course packages. This might be a great option for some students, but I first need to invest the time and resources to make sure that a payment plan works smoothly.
There are some technical details that need to be ironed out before the plans can be widely available. If you are interested in a payment plan for the 100-day or 200-day program, please feel free to reach out via email, and we might be able to work something out in the meantime.
This year is also about creating shorter, more interactive lessons. In the premium courses, I try to strike a balance between quick study wins and deep-dive lessons.
Most everyone is pressed for time these days, so I want to give you lessons that are flexible enough to fit into your busy schedule. Some TEAS topics, however, need to be explored in detail. In the longer lessons, I want to prepare you for a variety of tricky TEAS concepts. I also want to show you common mistakes that I’ve seen other students make—because I don’t want you to make them too!
In 2017, I developed many of these longer lessons. Now, my focus is on adding more quick study wins to the program. These lessons will help you master important TEAS concepts with memory games and review activities.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned since opening a one-woman business… it’s that tasks can take longer than first expected. Like most things that are worth it in life, sometimes it really is about steady progress—one step at a time! Keep going, keep building, and keep reaching for your dreams. It’s the advice I give to you as you study for the TEAS, too!
By the way, I’ve got a few more exciting developments up my sleeve, and I’m excited to share more of them with you in the coming months! 😎
Whew! We covered a lot here. But there’s one last important point I want to share… I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all the Prenursing Smarter students!
I’ve met so many wonderful people online through this site, and it would not exist without you. I appreciate your trust in the program and your devotion to your educational and career aspirations. I love it when you share you wins and updates, and I’m here to help you. This site is build for you. THANK YOU! ❤
