How do I solve 2/3(1/2 x 27) = ?

  1. Because this question involves more than 2 numbers, we’ll need to use PEMDAS, or the order of operations.
  2. Following PEMDAS, we’ll tackle the parenthesis: ½ x 27. You can use your calculator to multiply this out ½ x 27 = 13.5
  3. Now, our equation looks like this: ⅔(13.5) = ?
  4. You can solve this with your calculator:

    2 x 13.5 = 27

    Divide by 3

 The answer is 9.

OR, with your calculator, you could type in 2, divide by 3 (you’ll get a repeating fraction), and multiply by 13.5.

This will give you 9 as your answer.
