You, future nurse, future respiratory tech, future health care provider, are what the word needs right now.
What you do matters.
The world has changed in the last few days. In this post, I wanted to give you some resources in this uncertain time.
First, you’ll find resources to help you with school, TEAS prep, and studying at home.
Then, you’ll find resources for financial help and life uncertainty.
What does COVID-19 mean for the TEAS?
The short answer is that I don’t know yet. The TEAS isn’t going away… nursing school isn’t going away… but things might be different for a bit.
Health care has never been more important. Right now, you can prepare to make a difference in the world.
If you’ve already scheduled your TEAS… check with your school or testing center for updates. The ATI TEAS will not have information about your individual testing center.
If you haven’t scheduled your TEAS yet… you probably won’t be able to until the country has more information. You can check with your local school for more information, but everyone is working on figuring out the rest of this academic year first.
There’s a good chance that everyone’s tests will be postponed. Everyone is in the same boat.
The good news is that you have more time to study. The bad news is that things are going to very uncertain in the short term.
You are about to become a nurse at a time when history is being made.
How to Study at Home and Online TEAS Prep Resources
If you are planning on continuing your TEAS prep amid COVID-19, awesome. Take it a day at a time, and this can provide a distraction if you are mentally up to it.
My job right now is to help you become the best health care provider possible so that you can go out and save lives.
Quizlet is building up a resource with study-from-home tips. You can read it here, and it will be updated regularly.
Quizlet is awesome in general. Here are my free TEAS study sets, and here are my premium TEAS study guides, which are all under 20 bucks.
Picmonic is another great tool with resources for pre-health students and nursing school students. Their lessons are quirky, fun, and silly. I particularly recommend the ones on skin anatomy and kidney anatomy.
The module study sets links are referral links, which means you should get a discount. NOTE: I believe Picmonic is now offering all premium plans FREE through April 30, 2020.
To help you get started, I’ve created playlists for each of the Prenursing Smarter TEAS Anatomy & Physiology Modules:

If you or someone you love runs a small business and needs financial help, you may qualify for an emergency small business loan. Currently, California, Connecticut, Maine, and Washington are offering small business disaster loans for COVID-19. You can find more information on small business loans here.
Some cable and internet companies are offering financial assistance for students. You’ll need to check with your local companies, but here’s some information to help get you started.
You can check and see what options you have in your community. One great resource for this is 211.org. You can search your zip code and find resources in your community for disaster relief and essential needs services.

Finally, here is a post from the Financial Diet about how to prepare for a financial crisis.
